Getting involved at Our Saviour’s

God’s Work. Our Hands. Sunday – While we do spend time throughout the year doing service projects, in 2013 ELCA churches around the country began a new tradition – an annual day of service with most of the 10,000 congregations participating.  OSLC “crews” spend the day doing many service projects including filling bags of food/hygiene items for homeless folks, bringing lunch to local firefighters, making blankets for children in need of comfort, cleaning/organizing non-profits such as Family Promise & Fisher House, helping with yard/home projects for those in need as well as offering “Drive-Thru Prayer” at the church!  Imagine all those Lutherans across the country being busy in their yellow shirts!

It takes everyone, using their unique gifts, talents, and interests, to make possible the vibrant ministry of our congregation.          St. Paul writes, “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord;       and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone.” (1 Corinthians 12:4-6)

Whether it is in assisting with worship, volunteering at the food bank, teaching Sunday school, being part of the prayer team, serving on our Church Council, being part of a Ministry Team, or in countless other ways, your gifts and talents are vital to the life of our church.  We believe serving others is a blessing both for the one who serves, and for the one being served.

On the drop down menu is a list of many areas of ministry in our church. Click on an area and you’ll find a brief description of the ministry along with the name of the Church Council member(s) who oversees that area.  Feel free to contact that person to learn more about ways you can be involved!
